Abstract

 

The Family Planning (KB) program aims to regulate the spacing of children's births, the ideal age for giving birth, regulate pregnancies, promote, protect, provide assistance according to reproductive rights to create a quality family. Hormonal contraception has side effects, one of which is an imbalance between the hormones estrogen and progesterone which can cause changes in sexual activity.This study aims to determine the differences in sexual quality between hormonal and non-hormonal birth control acceptors at the Tanjung Baru Community Health Center, Oku Regency, South Sumatra. This type of research is quantitative observational research using cross-sectional methods. The population in this study were all mothers who used hormonal and non-hormonal birth control as many as 53 people, with a total sample of 34 people who were divided into 2 groups, namely those who used hormonal contraception as many as 17 people and those who used non-hormonal contraception as many as 17 people who used purposive sampling technique. Statistical tests use the Paired Sample T-Test test.Research results: the majority of hormonal contraceptive acceptors at the Tanjung Baru Health Center, Oku Regency, South Sumatra have moderate sexual quality, namely 12 people (70.4%), the majority of non-hormonal contraceptive acceptors at the Tanjung Baru Health Center, Oku Regency, South Sumatra have good sexual quality, namely a number 13 people (76.5%), there was a difference in sexual quality between hormonal and non-hormonal birth control acceptors at the Tanjung Baru Community Health Center, Oku Regency, South Sumatra with a value of p = 0.000 < α = 0.05. It is hoped that hormonal birth control acceptors will understand the side effects on sexual quality resulting from the use of hormonal birth control.
